Good security habits protect your assets—even when nothing “bad” is happening. Use this as a quick checklist.

Sending safely

  • Confirm the address and network before every send.

  • For large transfers, do a small test transaction first.

  • Avoid copying addresses from chats; use your own saved contacts/bookmarks.

Manage permissions

  • Review token/NFT approvals periodically and revoke ones you no longer need.

  • Only sign transactions you understand; if the prompt looks unusual, cancel and re-check.

Keep software healthy

  • Use wallet apps from official sources and keep them up to date.

  • Limit browser extensions; remove anything you don’t recognize.

  • Turn on device biometrics/PIN and auto-lock.

Backups & recovery (depends on your wallet)

  • ONCHAIN® embedded wallet: No seed phrase to manage. Focus on device security and account access (email/log-in methods).

  • MetaMask / Trust Wallet: Write down your recovery phrase and store it offline in two separate, safe places. Never store it in cloud notes or screenshots.

Organization & visibility

  • Add the correct token/contract and network to your wallet from official sources so balances display accurately.

  • Label frequently used addresses (own wallets, trusted contacts) to reduce mistakes.

If you lose access or make a mistake

  • Do not keep trying random fixes. Pause and assess.

  • For ONCHAIN® embedded wallet: recover access via your ONCHAIN® login; then review recent activity.

  • For third-party wallets: use your recovery phrase on a clean device/app; consider revoking approvals and moving assets to a fresh address after recovery.
